Thomas Edison makes the first recording.
The Japanese surrendered, ending the Second World War.
India gained independance.
South Korea was established.
The Beatles played Shea Stadium.
The Woodstock festival opened.
Saint Anthony was born.
Napoleon was born.
Oscar Romero was born.
Madonna was born. (Just for you, cinch)
